Amsterdam has a lot to offer. This time we've put together a list of the most fun markets. Scattered throughout the city, you'll find markets each with their own atmosphere and offerings. Whether you want to browse among vintage items, fresh products, or books, a visit to one of these markets is perfect for an afternoon of wandering or a nice start to your weekend.
Albert Cuyp
Everyone who knows Amsterdam also knows the Albert Cuyp market. For more than a hundred years, this has been the place for fresh products, clothing, snacks, and typical Amsterdam coziness. This market is located in one of the most famous neighborhoods: De Pijp. With 260 stalls, this is the largest market in Europe.The Albert Cuypmarkt is open six days a week!

Sunday market
Every first Sunday of the month you can get out of bed early, because it's time to go to the Sunday Market. Westergas has been the home base of this market since 2008. From 12:00 to 18:00 you can enjoy many stalls offering beautiful, handmade, funny, or delicious products. There are performances, for the kids there's a carousel or come salsa dancing at the Mojitoman.

IJ-hallen
We just talked about the largest market in Europe, but Amsterdam has another gem when it comes to markets.The IJ-hallen with 750 stalls is the largest flea market in Europe and therefore shouldn't be missed from this list. It's the perfect market for unique vintage items or a good second-hand deal. For this market you need to get a ticket that costs at least €6. Children from 4 to 11 are only €2.50! With a ticket you can search for those unique items from 9.00 to 16.30!

Dappermarkt
In Amsterdam-Oost you'll find the Dappermarkt, a lively market full of fresh vegetables, fruit, spices, clothing and household items. In 2006 and 2007 this market was voted the best market in the Netherlands! With more than 250 market stalls it's a beloved spot. The Dappermarkt is open six days a week from 9.00 to 17.00.

Spui book market
Every Friday, from 10.00 to 18.00, the Spui transforms into a paradise for book lovers. Around 25 booksellers come together in the heart of Amsterdam to display beautiful, interesting, fascinating or exciting books. At this book market you can browse around looking for second-hand books, old prints, illustrations and maps.
Foodhallen
Feel like going to a market where you can taste all sorts of things? Then the Foodhallen in Amsterdam-West is your place. Eight years ago the Foodhallen was founded and has been a huge success to this day. You can search for your favorite dish here or try something new, because with the wide selection of 21 stands there's something for everyone. You can visit here every day of the year, except on Christmas Day. Perfect for a spontaneous food trip on a weekday evening or a fun moment during the weekend.

Farmers Market Haarlemmerplein
For the freshest and most delicious organic products from local farmers, you need to visit the Farmers Market at Haarlemmerplein every Wednesday. Often, the people who helped produce the products are standing behind the market stalls themselves. From organic bread, vegetables, fruit, meat and fish - the makers are happy to share their knowledge. You can visit from 10:00 to 17:00 and it's perfect for your daily groceries.
