Patriek PaapClassics for a reason
What makes this film so enjoyable is that you clearly get the Christmas feeling. The Polar Express embodies the Christmas magic you felt as a child as soon as the first Christmas lights hung outside on the street. That recognizability makes The Polar Express so enjoyable. Due to the course of the film, it's especially recommended if you're looking for a calming and simple movie.
Available on: Primevideo, HBO Max & Netflix ## How the Grinch Stole Christmas Who doesn't know it: How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The film takes place in a small, cheerful village where they all work toward Christmas all year long and follows the main character: The Grinch. He is grumpy, lonely and has an enormous dislike for everything related to Christmas. While the residents are completely occupied with the Christmas atmosphere and decorating their own houses and the village, the Grinch watches from a distance. Throughout the film, he slowly discovers the true meaning of Christmas. The strength of the film lies in the pronounced character of the Grinch and the amazing acting skills of Jim Carrey. This film is perfect for people who want a 'feelgood' Christmas film with a hefty dose of humor. Available on: Primevideo, HBO Max & Netflix ## Love Actually Do you prefer to dream away with romance? Then you must have seen Love Actually once, a romantic Christmas classic. The film follows different forms of love during Christmas, each with its own approach and in a different life stage. From adultery in a married couple, to workplace relationships. The film has a high tempo, so it's not an "I'll just put it on in the background" case, because then you'll lose the thread in 5 minutes and rewind 8 times before you can say "Christmas bauble". Love Actually is the perfect 'feelgood romance'. Available on: Primevideo & Netflix ## The Muppet Christmas Carol My favorite during Christmas is really The Muppet Christmas Carol. This film follows the story of A Christmas Carol, but then played by the Muppets. The film feels less serious than the original, due to the humor that the characters from the Mu ppets bring with them, without too many changes to the storyline. The Muppet Christmas Carol is perfect for those who want to see a classic Christmas story with a fun twist.

Home Alone 1 and 2
The last on the list and certainly not to be missed: The Home Alone films. The story follows Kevin, an 8-year-old who must protect his house against burglars and comes up with the most creative solutions with perfect timing. The charm of the film lies in the practical effects that are used (spider on face in part 1 or a skeleton during electrocution in part 2). The Home Alone films use a constant alternation between suspense and accessible humor, making them easy to watch. Are you looking for the Christmas classic for an evening on the couch with your partner or family? Look no further, Home Alone is your film!
