Museum Night Amsterdam 2025
🖼️ On Saturday November 1, 2025, the 25th edition of Museumnacht Amsterdam takes place. Dozens of museums in the city open their doors between 7:00 PM and 2:00 AM for an evening program that's different from a regular day. Visitors can discover many different places in a short time and see how art, music and conversations come together.
What you can expect
🎶 During Museumnacht there's a different atmosphere than during the day. Instead of silence there's movement and contact. More than fifty museums organize activities: music, lectures, small performances and guided tours. The pace is slower than on a busy day, which gives space to look and listen.
Why this edition is special
🎉 In 2025 Museumnacht turns 25 years old. That anniversary coincides with the 750th anniversary of Amsterdam. Many museums seize this moment to give attention to their history or to renewal. Besides permanent collections, there are temporary exhibitions, collaborations and small projects to see.
Practical tips
💡• Buy your ticket in time; wristbands often sell out quickly.
• Think beforehand about which museums you want to visit. They're spread across the city and are easily accessible by bike or public transport.
• Choosing a theme, like art, history or science, makes planning easier.
• The Museumkaart and I Amsterdam City Card are not valid this evening.
• Take the time to look. In the evening the experience is often different than during the day.
What characterizes this edition
🤝 Because it's an anniversary year, many museums are collaborating with musicians, artists and local initiatives. There are short performances, workshops and new forms of presentation. Large and small institutions get equal space to show their own character. This creates a broad picture of what Amsterdam has to offer.
A different view of Amsterdam
🌃 Museumnacht Amsterdam shows how art and culture are part of city life. The evening brings people together in places that are normally closed or quiet. The Museumnacht shows how the city changes once the day is over.
