(AI Trainer) As an AI Trainer, you develop and refine artificial intelligence models for specific applications and clients. You apply advanced techniques such as Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) and instruction tuning to optimize large language models for specific domains. You critically evaluate model output, identify weak points, and implement improvements to increase quality and accuracy. Together with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and domain experts, you ensure that AI systems meet the specific requirements of clients and users.
For this position, you need at least an HBO bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field. The VWO choice profile Nature & Technology (N&T) offers the best preparation through its focus on mathematics, physics, and computer science. Subjects such as statistics, programming, and machine learning are essential. A master's degree in AI or Machine Learning is often valued, but relevant work experience with deep learning and natural language processing can supplement formal education.
Your career often starts as a Junior Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, where you acquire basic knowledge of AI and data processing. From your current position as AI Trainer, you can advance to Senior AI Trainer or Machine Learning Lead, where you manage more complex models and guide junior trainers. The next step is often AI Research Scientist or Head of AI, where you make strategic decisions about AI development and lead research teams.
As an AI Trainer, you stand at the frontline of the AI revolution and directly influence how artificial intelligence develops. Your work becomes increasingly important as organizations need specialized, reliable AI systems. New tools for automated machine learning and model evaluation make some routine tasks more efficient, but simultaneously increase demand for experts who can perform complex fine-tuning.
