What does a Internist-nephrologist?
(Internist-nefroloog) As an internist-nephrologist, you diagnose and treat patients with kidney diseases and disorders of the urogenital system. You perform complex medical procedures such as kidney biopsies, treat dialysis patients, and supervise kidney transplantations. In your daily practice, you work closely with urologists, transplant surgeons, dialysis nurses, and other specialists within the multidisciplinary team. You combine outpatient clinic work with hospital admissions and have regular patient contact for follow-up treatments and chronic care pathways.
