Students learn the fundamentals of communication, both verbal and non-verbal, and how to apply these in professional settings. The program includes theoretical insights into communication processes, media studies, and marketing, but also practical skills such as writing journalistic pieces, creating communication strategies, and developing campaigns. During the program, students gain insight into the role of communication within organizations and in society, and learn to communicate effectively with diverse target groups. Project-based work is central, where students work in groups on real assignments. Additionally, there are opportunities for internships and collaboration with the business sector, which strengthens the connection to the job market.

Required Education

For HBO Communication you need at least a HAVO diploma, VWO diploma, or MBO-4 diploma. The Culture & Society (C&M) profile fits best with this study, but Economics & Society (E&M) is also very suitable due to the marketing component. Dutch language is important for communication studies, and subjects like history, social studies, or economics provide a good foundation. If you are 21 years or older without the right diploma, you can gain access through a 21+ test.
