What will you learn?

(Scheepsbouwkunde) In the HBO Naval Architecture program, you learn everything about designing, building and maintaining ships and other maritime structures. You study ship technology, hydrostatics, resistance and propulsion, materials science and structural engineering. During practical projects, you work on real ship designs and learn to use CAD software. You also gain knowledge of maritime regulations, safety requirements and environmental aspects. The program combines technical theory with hands-on experience in workshops and internships at shipyards.

You can work as a naval architect, maritime designer, project manager at shipyards, technical advisor at shipping companies or ship surveyor. Positions at classification societies and maritime consultancy are also possible.
