Required Education

For a position as senior energy engineer, an HBO or university education in a technical field is required, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, sustainable energy or technical physics. If you want to pursue this route via HAVO or VWO, choose the Nature & Technology (N&T) profile with strong performance in mathematics, physics and preferably chemistry. For university level, mathematics B is mandatory, as well as physics and often chemistry, depending on the specific field of study. In addition to formal education, a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant work experience in the energy sector is expected for a senior position.
