What will you learn?

(Retail Management) During the MBO Retail Management study at MBO level, you learn everything about the dynamic world of retail. You gain insight into how stores operate and the various aspects of sales and marketing. Throughout this program, you develop important skills such as communication, customer focus, and teamwork. You also learn how to set up a sales strategy, manage inventory, and effectively use social media for marketing purposes. A special aspect of this study is the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. You have the opportunity to do internships at stores, where you can put your acquired knowledge into practice. Additionally, you are prepared for various roles within retail, from sales associate to (future) store manager. With the diploma in hand, you have good prospects in the job market within the ever-changing retail landscape.

Required Education

For admission to MBO Retail Management, you need at least a VMBO diploma, with VMBO-TL or VMBO-GL forming the best foundation for this level 4 program. If you come from HAVO, the Economics & Society (E&M) profile fits best with this study due to subjects like economics and business economics. Mathematics and Dutch are often mandatory subjects, while subjects like history or a modern foreign language may be recommended. If you are 21 years or older without the right preparatory education level, you can still be admitted through an admission test or colloquium doctum.
