What will you learn?

(Management) In the AD Management program, you learn all the essential management skills you need to lead teams and improve business processes. You take courses such as organizational studies, project management, marketing, finance, and human resources management. Additionally, you develop crucial soft skills like communication, leadership abilities, and commercial insight. What makes this AD unique compared to a full HBO bachelor's degree is the fast, practice-oriented focus where you gain directly applicable knowledge within two years without theoretical depth. You work on real business cases, conduct research into organizational problems, and do internships at local companies where you experience management challenges up close. The program is perfect for ambitious MBO-4 graduates who want to quickly take on a leadership role, or HAVO students who prefer practical learning over years of studying. Due to the compact structure, you're ready for the job market as a junior manager at a young age.

Required Education

For admission to AD Management, you need at least an MBO level 4 diploma, preferably in an economic direction such as Commercial Economics, Entrepreneurship, or Business Administration. You can also enter with a HAVO diploma, where the Culture & Society (C&M) or Economics & Society (E&M) profile fits best. These profiles contain subjects like economics, business economics, and social studies that are directly relevant for management. In secondary school, mathematics, Dutch, and English are particularly important, plus economic subjects when possible. Some universities of applied sciences have additional requirements such as a motivation letter or intake interview to assess your motivation and communication skills. VWO students can also enter, as well as working professionals through EVC procedures where your work experience is evaluated. At some institutions, you can also enter through an admission test if you don't meet all formal requirements but do have relevant work experience.

Career Prospects

After your AD Management, you can immediately start working as a team leader, department head, project coordinator, or assistant manager in various sectors such as retail, logistics, hospitality, and business services. Many graduates work at SME companies, municipalities, or large organizations as junior business analysts or management trainees. The starting salary is usually between €2,400 and €3,200 gross per month, depending on the sector and region. Career advancement opportunities are excellent: you can advance to higher management positions or extend your AD to a full HBO bachelor's in Management, Business Administration, or Commercial Economics in just one and a half to two years of additional study.

Impact of AI on this program
