What will you learn?

(Logistiek) In the AD Logistics you learn everything about planning, organizing and managing goods flows from producer to end user. You get subjects like supply chain management, warehouse management, transport planning, purchasing and inventory management. Additionally, you develop digital skills with logistics software such as WMS systems and ERP packages. This two-year program distinguishes itself from a full HBO bachelor's degree through its direct focus on practical application and faster entry into the job market. You work on realistic projects such as optimizing distribution centers, performing logistics analyses for real companies and designing efficient transport routes. Internships at logistics service providers, production companies or retailers are an essential part of your education. This AD is perfect for you if you are analytical, like to get things done and want to quickly get started in the dynamic logistics sector without studying for four years.

Required Education

For admission to the AD Logistics you need at least an MBO level 4 diploma in a relevant direction such as Logistics, Transport & Logistics, or Commercial Economics. You can also enter with a HAVO diploma, where the profile Economics & Society (E&M) or Culture & Society (C&M) is most suitable due to the focus on economics, mathematics and management. The subject mathematics is important because you work a lot with calculations for route planning, inventory management and cost analyses. Economics also provides a good foundation for the business aspects of logistics. VWO graduates can also enter, but the practice-oriented approach of the AD often fits better with MBO and HAVO students. Some schools apply additional selection criteria such as motivation letters or interviews. As an alternative, you can also enter via an admission test if you are 21 years or older without the right diploma.

Career Prospects

After your AD Logistics you can immediately start working as a logistics employee, warehouse coordinator, planner, freight forwarder or purchasing assistant at transport companies, distribution centers, production companies or logistics service providers such as PostNL, DHL or Albert Heijn. The starting salary is between €2,200 and €2,800 gross per month, depending on the employer and region. With experience you grow into functions such as logistics team leader, supply chain coordinator or operational manager with salaries up to €3,500-4,000 per month. For further career development you can progress to the third year of an HBO bachelor's in Logistics and then possibly pursue a master's degree, bringing management positions and higher salaries within reach.

Impact of AI on this program

AI optimizes AD Logistics with inventory forecasting, route planning and automated warehousing. Strategic thinking and chain coordination remain human work. Knowledge of AI tools becomes standard.
