What will you learn?

(Facilitair Eventmanagement) In the AD program Facility Event Management, you learn everything about organizing, coordinating and executing events, combined with facility services. You develop skills in project management, budget management, location management, catering, security and technical support. Subjects such as event marketing, contract management, risk analysis, hospitality management and facility processes are central. What makes this AD unique compared to a full bachelor's degree is the targeted focus on practical execution and operational aspects of events, rather than strategic policy development. You work on real projects such as corporate parties, conferences, trade fairs and cultural events in collaboration with external clients. Internships at event agencies, conference centers, hotels or facility service providers are a mandatory part of the curriculum. This program is perfect for you if you enjoy varied work, like to work practically, can handle stress and have a natural organizational talent. You learn to work with modern event management software and gain insight into trends such as sustainable events and hybrid events.

Required Education

For admission to this AD program, you need at least an MBO level 4 diploma in a relevant field such as Tourism & Recreation, Commercial Economics or Facility Services, or a HAVO diploma. The HAVO elective profile Culture & Society (C&M) or Economics & Society (E&M) fits best with this program. C&M is ideal because of subjects such as social studies and cultural and artistic education that provide insight into target groups and event culture. E&M is valuable through economics and business administration that are essential for budget management and entrepreneurship in the events sector. At secondary school, mathematics and Dutch are mandatory, and English is strongly recommended due to international clients and suppliers. Some schools require a motivation letter or intake interview to test your communication skills and motivation. VWO graduates are also admitted, and there are possibilities for lateral entrants with relevant work experience through an admission assessment.
